Advice for Using iPads in Schools
1. Use iPads for student thinking, knowledge representation, and media creation
Avoid the ‘Number Munchers’ syndrome!
2. Have students first be meaning makers, then media makers.
21st century learning means students developing deep conceptual understandings, then creating media to represent their thoughts.
3. Allow success for all students by implementing UDL practices.
4. Start with educational outcomes, then activity structures to meet those outcomes, and FINALLY app choice to meet the activity structures and outcomes.
